Dreamscape Salon & Spa – Web Design
Need to escape somewhere and relax? Dreamscape Salon & Spa is just the place for you. Visiting this spa will leave you feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and (of course) wanting to return again soon. The salon has a variety of services, from Brazilian waxes and acupressure massages, to herbal facials and threading services. Minal Mehta, the owner and licensed esthetician, also offers bridal henna services and hennas tattoos. How cool is that? Clients rave about her beautiful henna designs and she is known for her personalized care and customer service. Minal truly enjoys connecting with people and wanted the Dreamscape brand to feel welcoming and inviting. Some other words we came up with to describe the salon were calm, relaxing, peaceful, and feminine. With these adjectives in mind, I began laying out the mood board for Dreamscape Salon & Spa.
Dreamscape Salon & Spa Mood Board
The mood board is a collage of images that reflect the salon experience and inspires a color palette for the brand. The blues in the palette associate feelings of peace and relaxation with the salon. The soft bed of rose petals and inviting entry way helped inspire the warm peach color, and brings an energy to the brand. Overall, these colors work together to create the perfect mood for the spa – soft, relaxed and welcoming.
Dreamscape Salon & Spa Logo Design
The logo for Dreamscape Salon & Spa is feminine, peaceful, and relaxing – all the things that come to mind during the spa experience. The flower icon is bold and unique with henna inspired details in the center and sage leaves around its edges. Flowers are often associated with brands in the spa industry, but this flower stands out because of its henna inspiration. Henna services set Dreamscape apart from spa competitors, and this logo does the same. The salon name is set in a bold, sans-serif font that is commanding, yet still soft and inviting.
DREAMSCAPE salon & spa Branding Board
With the logo design complete, everything starts to come together in the brand style guide for Dreamscape Salon & Spa. The guide lays out all the visual elements for the brand and serves as inspiration for other parts of the project. The alternate logo can replace the main logo when the tall, boxy shape doesn’t fit and the icon can be used to label products or just as a simple symbol when the full logo isn’t necessary. The favicon emphasizes the flower design and works as a bold, styled icon for the brand. The patterns add an energy to the brand and typography has legible fonts options for the website and future collateral. The style guide brings the overall look of the brand together and Dreamscape Salon & Spa feels relaxing, inviting, peaceful and refreshing.
DREAMSCAPE salon & spa Web Design
The web design evokes these same feelings of peace and relaxation. It was critical for the Dreamscape website to be user-friendly and allow clients to navigate and book appointments easily. Visitors are a lot more likely to book appointments when the process is simple and hassle free. It was also important that the back end of the site was user-friendly for Minal, so I used Squarespace to create the website for her business. The layout has plenty of negative space making the site feel light and airy, and the colors and typography from the style guide help reinforce the brand. The alternate logo is also used in place of the main logo, since the shape is shorter and fits better in the header.
